How much do solar panels cost in Letchworth?

We quote after a survey rather than publishing a Letchworth average, because panel count, scaffolding access and whether you add a battery all change the price. As a national benchmark, the Energy Saving Trust, on a page updated 1 October 2026, says domestic systems are generally around 4.5kWp and cost around £7,600, with battery storage around £5,000 to £8,000. Solar panels and batteries fitted to homes are 0% VAT until 31 March 2027, after which the rate is due to be 5%. In the Heritage Character Area the rear-elevation rule can cap how many panels a roof takes, which moves a quote more than the town does.
