How much do solar panels cost in Hertford?

There is no reliable Hertford-only price list. The figure depends on the roof, system size, access and whether you add a battery, so a survey-based quote is the number to trust. As a national guide, the Energy Saving Trust (page updated 1 October 2026) says domestic systems are generally around 4.5 kWp and cost around £7,600, with battery storage around £5,000 to £8,000. Domestic solar panels and batteries are zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, then 5%. Listed homes, and flat roofs in the conservation area, may also need a consent or prior approval application before work starts.
