Are High Wycombe roofs suitable for solar?

Suitability comes down to orientation, shading and structure, which we check at survey. PVGIS modelling for High Wycombe at a 35-degree pitch gives about 1,013kWh a year per kWp facing south, 815kWh facing east and 791kWh facing west, so east and west slopes are modelled at roughly 78 to 80% of a south slope. Flat roofs can work too, but for a flat roof in a conservation area or the Chilterns National Landscape you must first ask the council whether prior approval is needed. PVGIS does not model trees or neighbouring buildings, so we check shading on site.
